Attingham was an amazing experience to study the architecture, art, decorative arts, landscape and material culture of English country houses from medieval times to the late 19th century. The book was produced in 2002 as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Summer School’s foundation in July 1952. It is based on extracts from the published writings of Attingham alumni from all over the world, and covers a wide range of subjects under the headings, architecture and interior design, fine arts and decorative arts.
